On the evening of Saturday 14th July race meeting at Castle Combe Luke Cooper and the commentator Ian Sowman are organising a Charity Karting Event in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust. 48 drivers from a range of different Championships including TCR UK, the BRSCC Mazda MX5 Supercup, National Formula Ford, F1000 and the local Castle Combe Championships will race against each other.
Last year an incredible £2,711 was raised and hopefully it can be beaten this year.
The event features a top quality field, with some of the most notable names being Joey Foster, a Formula 3 Champion and 3 time Formula Ford Festival and Walter Hayes Trophy winner, Niall Murray a National Formula Ford Champion, double Formula Ford Festival winner and a Walter Hayes trophy winner, Keith Dempsey a Formula Ford Festival winner, Lee Morgan F1000 Champion, Carter Williams a Formula Challenge Champion in America, Oliver White an 11 time Champion of Brands and Lewis Kent a TCR UK racer. While from the local Castle Combe Championships there is Jason Cooper, Josh Harvey, Michael Eastwell and David Vivian to name a few.
The event is being filmed by TV Company AJK TV for YouTube and will be presented by Andy McEwan (who is also taking part in the event.)
The event is starting at about 6.30pm at Castle Combe Kart track. Each driver will take part in 3 heats, starting on a different row of the grid for each of their races. There will be 24 heats of 6 karts and then 6 Grand Finals, with the grids decided by the heat finishing positions.
