Following a strong season racing the McLaren 650S GT3 in both Blancpain Endurance and Sprint championships with the Strakka Racing team,Andrew Watson joins the #100 Black Bull Scotch Whiskey car line-up for the final round of the 2017 British GT Championship this weekend at Donington Park. Northern Irishman Watson replaces Ciaran Haggerty and joins fellow McLaren GT Academy Driver Sandy Mitchell at the wheel of the 570S GT4.

Watson returns to race with the Garage 59 outfit having contested the 2016 Blancpain Endurance Series with the team in their title-winning season, and is no stranger to McLaren machinery. He debuted with the 650S GT3 in the British GT championship during 2015 before tackling the famous Bathurst 12 Hour in 2016. Alongside Factory Driver Rob Bell, Watson has now completed his second full season assault in the Blancpain GT Series, making impressive improvements through the McLaren GT Driver Academy programme. The opportunity to drive the 570S GT4 is another important step in building invaluable and varied experience as a GT driver within the Academy.
