Peter Barrable had a dominant Leinster Trophy weekend, racing in the Irish Supercars Powered By Pirelli at Mondello Park’s International Circuit.  ‘Two wins from two races for car no.22’. Putting the car on pole position and win both races saw the Dublin native lead the championship and win the ‘Taylor Memorial Trophy’ for the third time at the close of a special weekend.

Barrable had a test day on Friday, keeping the ASK Racing team busy adjusting and changing set-up and components to find the balance required for the challenging 2.934km circuit.

Peter Barrable talks to www.topgear.ie during Friday’s test session.

Feeling comfortable on the Saturday morning and quietly confident, Barrable had a convincing qualifying session, putting his Michael Barrable Motors backed machine on pole position by over 2 seconds.

Race 1 saw a change from the dry conditions of the morning’s qualifying session.  A rain sodden track made conditions tough for competitors.  Getting off the line well,  Barrable led from lights to chequered flag being pressured all the way from championship challenger, Alan Dawson.

Race 2 on Sunday saw perfect conditions for motorsport.  A crisp dry day gave the thirsty 2.0L engines all the air necessary to perform at maximum pace.  Again Barrable had a great start and to lead the 15 minute race to victory, setting fastest laps in both races.  Barrable now leads the championship heading for the least two races of the season.
