BMW Launch M8 GTE World Endurance Championship Contender

BMW have officially launched the M8 GTE which will race in the WEC Pro Division next season.  The car was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show today and it does look a little special.

It’s planned debut is in the Daytona 24 Hours in January 2018 before launching its challenge in the WEC and IMSA Sportscar Championship.

The race car was seen testing in Barcelona in August with Martin Tomczyk, Bruno Spengler, Nick Catsburg and Philip Eng all driving and giving feedback to the Bavarian based manufacturer.

Jens Marquardt, BMW motorsport director explained “The development of the BMW M8 GTE is on schedule and we can hardly wait to see the car challenging for victories in 2018”.

Indeed, if the car performs as well as it looks, it’s sure to be a class act on track.
