Pa Hudson returned to Mondello Park for rounds 7 & 8 of the Tool Dynamics ITCC.  Following disappointment at the last two rounds, where Hudson’s Honda Integra experienced engine failure, the Kildare racer fitted a standard engine as a substitute.

Qualifying was difficult, where set-up and outright power not optimised, Hudson still put the Integra 2nd on the grid.

Following geometry adjustments before race one, Hudson saw improvements on track.  Running a steady race eventually finishing in 2nd place.  “I felt the car was performing well but knew there was still more to gain from set-up” explained Hudson following race one.

Again, more set-up changes were implemented before race two.  Starting on the back row with a reverse grid, Hudson got a great start fighting his way to 2nd place by turn two.  Hudson was battling with Adrien Dunne and eventually got passed to lead the race just before the red flags were shown.  The race was stopped and Hudson found himself re-gridded, starting from the back row again.  On the restart, Hudson got another good start and had to battle through the field eventually hauling the underpowered Integra over the line to finish in P1.

Hudson was delighted with the weekend.  “There was little I could do with the power, however with the help of Philip Wright Motors, we gained a big step forward on set-up” he explained.  “As always, I need to thank all my family and sponsors, without them, this wouldn’t be possible”.
