Andy O’Brien returns to Formula Ford 1600, this time with a major assault on the Northern Ireland FF1600 Championship.  O’Brien, who has several championships wins under his belt, including Mondello pre-’99 FF1600 Champion, Junior Ginetta Champion and 2016 Tool Dynamics Supercar Champion returns with a freshly rebuilt Van Diemen Chassis Formula Ford.  O’Brien has used a similar livery to that of last season, keeping the silver and orange colour scheme and his championship winning number 17.

Specialist Cars Ireland have returned as his major Sponsor and will prepare the car, together with Noel O’Brien for each round.

The Sunday World have come on board as O’Brien’s Media Partner again this year.  There will be regular features on his progress following each round, together with up to date action shots.

The new Irish Motorsport on-line web site, www.topgear.ie have partnered up with O’Brien to promote and update his progress during the season.

O’Brien has retained and brought new sponsors to the team this year.  “We have worked hard over the Winter months to get the car prepared.  I was really encouraged by the feedback from my 2016 sponsors, who have supported me again in 2017.  It is great to see new sponsors come on board too.  This really helps my momentum for this fresh challenge” O’Brien explained.
